Prof. Vedat Sar, M.D. - TURKEY
Dr
Vedat Sar is a psychiatrist and clinical professor in
Istanbul University Istanbul Medical School. He is Director
of the Clinical Psychotherapy Section and Dissociative
Disorders Program at the Istanbul University Medical
Faculty Hospital. He is also in private practice in
Istanbul.
Dr Sar has published extensively on dissociative
disorders both in Turkish and English since 1993. Besides
research, with his efforts on inclusion of dissociation
courses in medical school education and residency training
programs, he served for the development of better insight
among medical professionals beyond circles of specialists
of the field.
Vedat is a fellow and international
director of the International Society for the Study
of Dissociation (ISSD). He received David Caul Memorial
Award (twice) and Morton Prince Scientific Achievement
Award of the ISSD for his studies on dissociative disorders.
