Coaching

What is coaching - how can it help me?

It provides assistance in how to go about getting what you want
Its aim is to produce results
The focus is on changing circumstances by taking action on aspirations

Coaching in the field of sports is the best analogy. Athletes know the value of having someone who knows what they are doing, to help keep focus and to encourage how to take specific practical action in order to achieve a desired outcome.

We can all benefit from assistance in developing or changing all kinds of aspects of our lives.

What can I get coaching for?

Anything you wish to improve or change - our expertise is not in sports but includes:

Work-life balance
Effective interpersonal relating skills
Executive and leadership skills
Health and well-being
Transition - personal or professional

How is coaching different from counselling or therapy or personal development?

All approaches develop your skills, resilience and strengths to enrich your quality of life in the present and involve thinking, decision, feeling, intuition, self-awareness, spirituality and action.

The difference is in emphasis and format as there are many areas of overlap and similarity:

1) Coaching respects the value of consciously taking responsibility for your future and
discovering and acting on what inspires you - and so frees you from creating pain
and limitation which allows you enjoyment of possibilities and potential.

Counselling respects the value of taking responsibility to heal subconscious dynamics and wounds from your past experiences - and so frees you from re-enacting pain and limitation which allows you enjoyment of possibilities and potential.

2) Coaching emphasizes planning, action, and external change while counselling emphasizes
feelings, self-awareness and internal change.

3) Coaching may be done over the phone if preferred whereas counselling is better in person.

4) Coaching involves set follow-up tasks for proceeding at the next consultation. Counselling may or may not involve follow-up tasks.
