Naomi Halpern

Naomi Halpern qualified as a Social Worker in the U.K. in 1983. Prior to entering private practice at The Delphi Centre in 1987, she worked with homeless youth, children in State care and convicted offenders, in government and charity organizations in the U.K. and Australia.

Naomi has specialized in providing therapy and professional development training in the areas of normal as well as extreme stress, severe trauma and abuse, for two decades. She has presented her work in various formats both nationally and internationally as well as providing case consultations nationwide.

Naomi is currently co-authoring a treatment manual with Dr Colin Ross from Dallas, TX, USA: Trauma Model Therapy: A Treatment Approach for Trauma, Dissociation and Complex Comorbidity.

Since 1995, Naomi, with her colleague, Susan Henry, has organized and convened over 60 accredited conferences, seminars and workshops on trauma and dissociation through The Delphi Centre. In 1992 Naomi was instrumental in co-founding the Australian Association of Trauma and Dissociation Inc. (amalgamated with the ASTSS in 1997) and in establishing a national conference. Naomi was treasurer for 4 years and served on the executive committee, co-convened 5 annual conferences and was Conference Chair in 1996. She is a member of the International Society for the Study of Trauma & Dissociation.
